All interactive elements can be used with the keyboard alone.
Content is structured for use with screen readers and assistive technologies.
We aim for clear contrast and readable text in line with accessibility guidelines.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use our website. Under the Equality Act 2010 we have a duty to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA where practicable and to improve the accessibility of our digital services over time.
WCAG 2.1 defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It has three levels of conformance: A, AA and AAA.
✓ WCAG 2.1 Level AA
We aim for our website to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some content or third-party features may not yet fully meet this standard. We are working to address known issues and to bring all content in line with our accessibility goals.
We have implemented a range of features to support accessibility:
You can navigate and operate the site using the keyboard. Use Tab to move between interactive elements, Enter or Space to activate buttons and links, and Escape to close dialogs or menus where applicable.
Our pages are structured so they work with screen readers and other assistive technologies. We support common tools such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack. Images have alternative text where appropriate.
We use colour contrast that meets WCAG AA where possible. Text can be resized using browser settings. Information is not conveyed by colour alone.
Headings and landmarks are used so you can navigate the content logically. Links are descriptive where possible. Forms are labelled so they can be used with assistive technology.
We are aware that some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. For example:
We are working to fix these issues and to make further improvements. If you encounter a problem, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
Our website is designed to work with common assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnification, speech recognition and alternative input devices. We test with a range of browsers and tools to improve compatibility.
We test our website using a combination of automated checks and manual testing (including keyboard navigation and screen reader testing) to identify and fix accessibility issues. We also take account of user feedback.
We welcome your feedback. If you have trouble using any part of our website, or need information in a different format (for example large print or audio), please get in touch. We will do our best to help and to improve the site.
